Thank you for taking time to visit my web site. I'm Gene The Machine. I make a living as musician, which is not an easy thing to do on Long Island, so every job is important to me. I keep my breaks short, and always start on time. I cover music from the 1920’s to present day and with over one hundred fifty songs in my set list, can accommodate almost any crowd. I can play four hours of easy listening music, four hours of rock ‘n roll or a combination of the two. I perform at many of Long Island's finest winery's, restaurant's and yacht clubs and in the past six years I have appeared in over seventy five other clubs, pubs and taverns in the area, including over seventy five private parties.
What do I do?
I am a "one man band" but I do not use sequencers or pre-recorded music. I play two electronic drum pedals with my feet while playing acoustic guitar and singing. I also play harmonica. The drum pedals provide a great backbeat to all the music I play allowing people to dance if they want to, and combined with the bass lines I pick while strumming the guitar, produce a nice, clean sound that is full but never too loud. Playing all these instruments myself, in real time, enables me to perform with much more feeling and control than those "one man bands" who use pre-recorded music. If you like the songs in my song list, I'm sure you will enjoy my performance.
Below you will find links containing information such as: the date of my next performance as well as a song list, a band & artist list, and a short list of just some of the places I have performed. You can also sample some of my music by clicking the sound bites link. Thanks for stopping by.
